Caprese Salad Recipe

Ingredients

  • 3-4 ripe tomatoes (Campari, Roma, or Heirloom), sliced
  • 8 oz fresh mozzarella, sliced
  • Fresh basil leaves
  • 2-3 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 1-2 tbsp balsamic glaze (optional)
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper

Instructions

  1. Prepare Ingredients
    • Slice the tomatoes and fresh mozzarella into even rounds. Wash and pat dry the basil leaves.
  2. Assemble the Salad
    • Arrange the tomato slices, mozzarella, and basil leaves alternately on a serving platter (tomato, mozzarella, basil, repeat).
  3. Drizzle and Season
    • Drizzle the olive oil (and balsamic glaze, if using) over the top. Sprinkle with salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste.
  4. Serve
    • Serve immediately as an appetizer or side dish.
